Recap of October Dance Parties Pt. 1

So this is a recap of parties I have gone to lately.

On Thursday I went to see Moby at Hiro Ballroom, very crowded at first, but the vibe was right, and the tunes were definitely right on. When I first came in to the dance floor, I believe it was on of his opening acts (not Juan MacLean) playing and doing it well. I went with some friends and met with some generous Brits that did not hesitate to pass a hijacked bottle of vodka around my way.

Remember, this is a residency for Moby, so look for this old school party.

Last night I went into Webster Hall to dance to the morphed beats of Sasha. The opening DJ was a duo that, frankly, managed to earn the night's highest moments. I've always said it, Sasha is a "4am DJ". That is how I started liking him in the first place. I remember the time was about, err, 4am, and I was exhausted. After a full day and night of dancing and some serious highs at Barcelona's Sonar Festival, I found Sasha playing in the open air part of the venue, an abandoned hangar in the outskirts of the city. The man was relentless, breaking out demonic bass lines and certainly making me dance like a hedonistic mofo.

It was a good party, hope he comes back with the warmer temperatures next year.
