SPOTLIGHT :: Pablo Bolivar :: Musica Para Estar

It's the end of the month, but before this 30-day cycle is over, I wanted to give all of you who come and support this site a very special treat. Pablo Bolivar has a very interesting sound, including enchanting grooves with a minimalistic framework. Well known in his home country of Spain, he has made a name for himself by whipping out quality productions. His most recent LP, Anjanas, is a true rendition to his passionate outputs. A very nice guy, he sent me this two part mix for everyone to listen.

The World Is Flat :: Thomas L. Friedman

This book (I got a hold of the audio-book) is as relevant to life, as water to fish. This New York Times columnist goes through every aspect of this flattening process. By the time you get to 1/4 of this book, you will understand how important it is to know the particulars of this process where everyone is affected, and how competition just became a true global sport.

Where the f*ck is Miss Kittin?!?

I was in Brooklyn this last weekend. As some of you may have heard, there are some really great shows in the NYC metropolitan area the rest of this month and all of next. So we are ready to go, we found out where Avalon was, and we jetted over to Manhattan. As we incorporate into the line, I notice that the crowd was not the usual electro ppl. Yes, Miss Kittin was cancelled and it was replaced with um... hip-hop night!?!?

I have been saying this for years

Argentinean pop/rock/electronic/? guy Gustavo Cerati had to say this in a press conference in Lima, Peru:

"I do not know very well where I am located in this panorama where all seem to make an effort to seem Latin for the North American market. I do not need to move the hips to be Latin, I make the music that is natural for me".

It's just you and me buddy.

Pretty much.
